About Me.

Where to start?

Nice to meet you!

Growing up in  therural north-Florida panhandle, there wasn't much to do. I entertained myself by reading, building secret forts in my backyard, and creating art. Someone bought me a set of colored pencils at a young age, and I started by copying Norman Rockwell paintings from a book on the family bookshelf. From there I graduated to water colors, then acrylics, and most recently, oils. Though I was fortunate to have amazing art teachers through the local school system, I am largely self-taught.

I love to travel, and for many years my paintings were inspired by far-away places I had been or hoped to go. More recently, through the medium of oil paints, I have been exploring a subject closer to home: Florida landscapes. I am drawn to the salt marshes of my small hometown on the "Forgotten Coast" of Florida and the way light filters through the landscapes to illuminate the natural beauty that I took for granted for so long.

I now call Tampa home - a coast that has certainly not been forgotten. While I am enjoying the livelier pace, I still love long drives through back roads to catch glimmers of old Florida and long walks around my historic Seminole Heights neighborhood to admire the architecture and say hi to all the cats.

I appreciate all the support from my friends and family who have encouraged me to follow my passions by sharing my art. I can rarely bring myself to part with my originals, but please sign up for my email list if you want to be notified when I release prints for sale or (gasp) have originals available for purchase.

Thanks for stopping by!
